S1 AND S2 - CfE SCIENCE

The Science course has been designed to stimulate, nurture and sustain the curiosity and questioning of our pupils. All of the topics have been designed with a thematic approach to ensure that their learning is relevant. S1 have been doing a topic based around a medical theme where they have been studying: the human body and its various organs, opthamology and radiology and infection control. They are about to start a topic based around the science of the home where they will be looking at acids and bases, forces and electricity within the home.
Throughout the course children have been encouraged to become effective scientific citizens by questioning scientific articles that appear in the media, and they have also explored the ethics of certain areas of science.
