S5 AND S6 - INTERMEDIATE 2 HISTORY

This course builds on Standard Grade History and aims to contribute to pupils' understanding of the society in which they live and work by helping them to appreciate the ways in which important aspects of that society have developed in the past, both nationally and internationally.  The Intermediate History course is divided into three units.  Two units from Scottish and British Studies:

·         From the Cradle to the Grave: Social Welfare in Britain 1890s-1951

and

·         Campaigning for Change:Social Change in Scotland 1900s-1979

and one unit from European and World Studies

·         The Road to War: A study of Nazi foreign policy 1933-39 and the steps leading to the   outbreak of war.

 

Thecourse articulates with the Higher History Course and helps facilitate flexibility of movement between levels.
